As you can see, the game overlays itself on whatever appears in your iPhone camera lens. Point it at the night sky and, presto, you’re blasting TIE fighters in outer space. Point it at the dog and, um, presto, you’re blasting TIE fighters coming from your dog.

These robotic suits, worn by humans and produced by Cyberdyne in Japan, let the paralysed walk and give care-workers extra strength to carry the old and infirm to a wheelchair. Businesses like this need stability to prosper - and the country’s recent parade of interchangeable prime-ministers (five in four years) has hardly helped.

Code-Time is a ten minute digital video made up of 3000 QR codes. Running at five frames a second, each barcode is an encoded frame from the introductory sequence to 2001 A Space Odyssey. This shorter edited version of the start of Kubrick’s film focusses upon how humans are introduced to the concept of technology through an extraterrestrial artefact. To ‘watch’ this version of the movie the audience require mobile phones that are connected to the Internet to interpret each new frame of the sequence. Using a QR reader, each barcode can be decoded and allows the owner to see one frame of the movie at a time.

How awesome is this! New iPhone game lets you role-play your way through your to-do list. Makes me want to dust off my 20 sided dice and do my laundry.

Dubbed EpicWin, the app aims to merge your to-do list with an RPG, letting you gain experience points and find rare loot as you do the laundry and catch up on e-mail.
